Pressreader is a "digital newstand" with users able to read thousands of publications online. It is very easy to use and from personal experience, especially good when accessing on tablets!
In order to access, it normally charges around $30 a month
However, it also partners with a large number of Libraries/Higher Education facilities to give its members free access. This is my experience with Wakefield Library kindly providing access.
This is where the loophole lies!....
How to get access to Pressreader:
Step 1:
In order to login, you will need a library card number. Open up a tab and search for "pressreader library card number" and you will be presented with a number of results which offer advice on how to login to the service. The library below even gives an example library card number, if you wanted to, you can literally use this one, although coming up with another one is probably a better idea!
Step 2:
Navigate to https://www.pressreader.com/ and choose "Library or Group". You should be presented with a list of institutions.
Step 3:
Search for the institution you found in Step 1, and try a variation of the number that you found at the start.
Step 4:
Enjoy!
You can subscribe to various magazines and newspapers, and if you download the app you can automatically download them to your device.
You will need to login every 30 days to retain access to the platform.
